Simo Arshara

On official documents, I'm Simona Cerri, but my artist name is Simo Arshara.

My professional journey has taken shape through different creative disciplines. I spent years working as a jewellery designer, photographer and filmmaker, developing projects that required research, technical expertise and a personal artistic vision.

I have also explored painting, writing and music, experiences that have helped shape the way I observe and interpret the world.

As a filmmaker, I have created music videos, short films and video productions for theatre and dance, overseeing the entire creative process, from concept and direction to post-production.

Since 2020, I have increasingly focused on visual experimentation, exploring digital art, experimental photography, compositing and artificial intelligence tools as part of my image-making process.

I don't follow a single style or a rigid method. Each project begins with an intuition, an image or a subject I want to explore. Research, experimentation and the layering of different techniques and creative languages guide its development.

Books & Visual Projects

In recent years, my creative work has also found a new form through independent publishing.

I create and publish illustrated books, journals and editorial projects that bring together images, stories, nature, symbolism and personal reflection.

From my early publications, such as Verso Uno, to the Mantras and Spirit Animals collections, each book represents a world of its own, with a distinct visual and narrative identity.

Alongside my publishing work, I continue to develop photographic and artistic projects. Some are intended to become publications, while others are conceived as independent visual explorations.

Arshara Studio brings these different creative disciplines together under a shared artistic vision, allowing each project the freedom to find its own form.
