Simo Arshara

My name on documents is Simona Cerri, but my artist name is Simo Arshara.

I have worked for years in creative fields — as a jewellery designer, photographer and filmmaker — with everything that each profession involves in terms of study, practice and attention to detail.

Along the way I explored other languages too: painting, writing, music.

​

As a filmmaker I made music videos, short films and videos for theatre and dance, handling everything from concept and direction to shooting and final editing.

In 2020 I chose to focus on what felt most truly mine: digital art, experimental photography, digital compositing and artificial intelligence applied to image-making.

Today I create visual projects and art books — series of images built around an idea, an atmosphere, a curiosity — that sometimes remain as portfolio work and sometimes become something more.
