Stop Talking
There is something about horses that is hard to explain.
Perhaps that is exactly the point.
We spend so much time trying to describe them, understand them, interpret what they do. But sometimes the best thing we can do is simply stop talking and look.
When I'm with horses, time seems to slow down. I notice the way they breathe, the smallest movements, the way they look back at us. Sometimes just touching them is enough. Sometimes just watching. Even their smell stays with you for hours afterwards — and somehow, I never mind.
Anyone who has truly spent time with horses probably knows what I mean.
STOP TALKING was born from this feeling: an invitation to observe rather than explain.
PROCESS
The photographs come from real encounters. I bring my camera, but first I watch and wait. I don't want horses to perform for the photograph; I'm interested in what happens in between — a look, a movement, a moment of stillness, the relationship between a horse and the surrounding space.
Some photographs remain exactly as they were captured. Others may become the starting point for digital work, when I feel that another visual language can say something the photograph alone cannot.
CONCEPT
The horse is not simply the subject of these images.
STOP TALKING is about attention: what we begin to notice when we stop filling every silence with words.
The project continues to grow with every new encounter, one photograph at a time.
Stop talking. Start noticing.
